Elephant Carpaccio Daily Delivery
Held by Douglas Squirrel aka. Squirrel
Squirrel handed out his leaflets on Elephant Carpaccio (and two others).
He gave a quick introduction to the topic, with good examples of how to slice a project into very small deliveries.
Concrete example: Adding a colour picker to an application like a report generator.
Examples of individual steps (recreated from memory, anyone with a better memory, please expand)
- Add a button named colour that does absolutely nothing
- Make button pop up a dialog with a static image of a possible color picker
- ???
- Simple colour picker dialog, that doesn't actually do anything when user selects a colour
- ???
Squirrel also gave numerous good examples of how to gather user input from the steps above and from other examples. These examples are actually very useful input, and that topic is not really covered in the leaflet, so it would be nice if someone can expand on that topic.
"Further reading/lookup" terms that were mentioned during the session:
- Walking Skeleton
- Hallway usability testing
- Captive users
- Alastair Cockburn
